About the Author
I am a veteran Mazdaspeed owner. I have owned Mazdaspeeds since 2003 and my first was a Mazdaspeed Protege. While I owned the Mazdaspeed Protege I spent way too much money and got way too many speeding tickets but all was not negative. I learned a lot about the Mazdaspeed brand, Mazda itself and the Mazda community.
Through the past 7 years I took my Mazdaspeed Protege from 180hp to a 215whp bad ass machine going from 15.6 seconds to 12.7 secs in the quarter mile with only bolt-ons and a ECU piggyback system. I also learned about too much power to a stock block by blowing a piston bearing, that was not fun or cheap!
Through my years of tinkering, racing and being involved in communities such as Streetunit forums and Mazda 24/7 I have gained extensive knowledge of Mazda performance and hope to be able to share my thoughts and finding with the Mazda community in more detail here.
